This new and more advanced technology provides manufacturers with more robust keyboards. For example, some of the new stoves have adopted this system for a better control to turn on and off the heating elements and adjust their intensity. The user only needs to touch directly the silk-screened glass to control the functions.

Here are the characteristics and advantages of this new and efficient technology:

Characteristics Advantages
Does not require any special process such as calibration or tuning. Simplified technology that fits easily in the manufacturing process.
The keys won’t be activated accidentally by external substances or objects. Safe for all industrial, commercial and medical products.
No electrical contact between the keys and the finger. Increased life and great ability to seal keys.
This system is protected against electrostatic discharge and interference. No false reading or activation by mistake.
Keys can be activated by a hand with or without gloves. Choice of sensitivity level for keys.
Requires few external components. Economic in terms of costs and production time.
